
Established in 1995, the Firm is engaged in the general practice of law, catering primarily to corporate clients and their requirements. As such, the Firm is extensively involved in corporate transactions requiring legal expertise in such fields as mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, securities, quasi reorganizations, and other corporate transactions as well as real estate, labor relations, tax, intellectual property, wills, trusts & estate planning. The Firm is also engaged in immigration work, domestic relations, and civil and criminal litigation.
The Firm regularly provides retainer and corporate secretarial services to its clients which cover the services of legal counsel for ordinary consultations, review of contracts and documents, routine opinions, and similar legal services in the ordinary course of business.
The Firm can also be engaged for special projects or those which require legal services beyond the ordinary course of business such as but not limited to the establishment of business ventures, corporate restructurings, preparation and/or negotiation of major contracts and agreements and the rendering of counsels’ opinion in connection therewith, representation before legislative, administrative, judicial, arbitration, or other similar agencies or bodies, and the conduct of legal audits and special legal studies.
The Firm consists of five (5) partners, a litigation consultant, four (4) associates and a legal support complement of sixteen (16), all of whom are fluent in the English language. The support staff includes experienced paralegals who regularly deal with various government agencies. The Firm’s client base, consisting of both local and foreign entities, corporate and otherwise, engaged in a wide variety of businesses such as manufacturing, construction, realty development, banking and finance, architectural service, information technology, insurance and insurance brokering, pharmaceutical, and property management.
Four (4) of the partners of the Firm have been engaged in the practice of law in the Philippines for over thirty (30) years each. They began their respective careers as associates in large law firms and rose to become partners at their respective law firms.
In 1986, when the opportunity presented itself, Messrs. Roxas, Laurel & De los Reyes co-founded a law firm with other colleagues which also bore their surnames. After ten (10) years, Messrs. Roxas, Laurel & De los Reyes formed the present partnership together with Ms. Rosario who had worked with them at the previous firm.
We aspire to make a contribution to the economic growth of the Philippines by facilitating foreign and local investments, assisting in the development of new or existing businesses, fostering a business environment conducive to “doing business” and delivering cost-effective legal solutions to problems.
In line with our objective, we have developed a practice involving foreign investments, corporations, securities, acquisitions and mergers, real estate, banking, insurance and taxation. As most businesses in the Philippines began as family owned companies, we also handle family law and estates and assist family owned corporations transition from second generation to third generation shareholders and resolve disputes among them.
In support of our clients, we also provide legal representation before the courts and administrative agencies.
Our focus is to provide our clients with workable legal solutions and with not only prompt and efficient but quality legal service at the least cost and expense to them.
We likewise aim to establish a long term relationship with our clients based on mutual trust and understanding and to grow and develop with them.
In line with our purposes, we likewise support, through our “pro-bono” work, certain advocacies, such as the environment and education.
The Firm is located in Makati City, which is the premiere business district of the Philippines.
